Mental Health Services

The links on this page are to services, tools and general information which are based on or use recovery theory.  The links do not necessarily reflect the views of the Community Care Trust, but are here to enable visitors to this site easy access to information that links in with our work.

Recovery Devon is central to the development of the recovery approach in Devon.  The Recovery Devon website offers a wide range of information and resources on the recovery approach.

Devon Partnership Trust provides mental health and learning disability services across Devon and Torbay.  The DPT work closely with health and social care providers throughout the county.  They offer services for adults of working age, people with eating disorders, older people, people with alcohol and drug problems, people with a learning disability and people who need forensic or secure mental health services.

Rethink are a national mental health membership charity which works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness recover a better quality of life.

PLUSS work closely with the CCT in Torbay and Teignbridge, offering a service to meet the needs of a greater number of people.  They offer a range of training and recruitment services to help people to achieve their potential.

WAND are a mental health helpline that offers a free (from landlines and most mobile providers) and confidential service providing support for anyone who needs someone to speak to.  The service is based in Barnstaple and is open on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.

Cool Recovery provides support for families and those recovering from mental health issues by providing information, practical and emotional support, a space where people can meet, volunteer, make friends and help each other.

Education Link is based in North Devon and is designed to provide a comprehensive range of advice, support, guidance and educational opportunities, for adults with mental health and emotional problems.

Devon Advocacy Service provides information about advocacy and an advocacy service to help people to ensure their views are heard.  To contact the advocacy page of the Devon County Council website please follow this link.


Self-Help Tools and Services

WRAP or the Wellness Recovery Action Plan is a self-help tool used by people who wish to organise their lives in a recovery-focused way.  Several examples of WRAP are available and will suit different people.  Examples are available below:

The Self-Help Monitoring Tool (Keeping on Track) was created for the Primary Care Building Choices programme in Torbay.  It enables people to look into key areas of recovery and measure the degree to which they meet their own needs to successfully work on their recovery.

Our Affiliates

The Community Care Trust are affiliated with several of the organisations above, and also have a link with the Mindful Employer initiative.  Mindful Employer helps to raise an awareness of mental health issues in the workplace and assists people to remain in work whilst tackling their difficulties.
